“If you follow your bliss, you put yourself on a kind of track that has been there all the while, waiting for you, and the life that you ought to be living is the one that you are living.”

- Joseph Campbell

About me…

I feel all along, I knew I could end up here, and by here, I mean doing something I truly love, even if it took a long time to figure out. For me, following my bliss led me to the field of nutrition, and I couldn’t be happier about it! Originally from Northeast Ohio, I moved to Colorado in 2014 to snowboard, explore the mountains, and pursue becoming a Registered Dietitian Nutritionist (RDN). I completed my Bachelor of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics, dietetic internship, and Master of Science in Nutrition & Dietetics all at Metropolitan State University of Denver. I’ve worked in a variety of settings including higher education, clinical nutrition, community nutrition, sports nutrition, and private practice, and have experience counseling a wide variety of individuals and families throughout their lifespan. I focus on an integrative approach to nutrition for disease prevention, longevity, and happiness!  I’m passionate about food and nutrition and believe that along with providing nourishment, eating can be a fun and enjoyable experience that plays a vital role in health and wellness. Whether it’s helping manage a chronic condition or building a healthy relationship with food or body image, I provide individualized, client-focused counseling for a broad range of nutrition-related concerns or goals.

Backcountry Nutrition

One of the main things that lured me to Colorado is the massive opportunity for an endless variety of backcountry sports that spans every season! The backcountry culture here is huge and my husband Alec, our golden retriever Tela and I love being a part of it! Whether it’s snowboarding, skiing, snowshoeing, trail running, hiking, biking, backpacking, rock climbing, paddle boarding, or kayaking, (this list goes on!), backcountry sports all have their own unique nutrition requirements for fueling and recovery that translate to optimal performance and safety in the backcountry. Participating in many of these activities myself led me to do my graduate research on the optimal macronutrient distribution in backcountry athletes and energy intake vs. energy expenditure on backcountry ski, snowboard, and snowshoe expeditions. A variety of factors (both physiological and environmental) affect each individual’s nutritional needs during different backcountry activities requiring personalized nutrition that I can’t wait to provide for you!
